Origins and identity are the focus of my art. The layers of marks and tones in my works bring to mind the layers an archeologist would dig through in search of the past, a scientist would sift and enlarge or an astronomer would explore to understand life and its origins. I began as a photographer, exploring alternative photo processes and other photographic manipulations to uncover hidden, subjective truths. In recent works often all that remains is the memory of photographs.
